In a bold political move, former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has officially unveiled the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) during a high-profile ceremony in Lavington, Nairobi. The Thursday event marked a strategic leap as Gachagua positions himself for the 2027 presidential contest.
DCP, characterised by its vibrant neon green, brown, and white hues, marches forward with the spirited slogan “Skiza Wakenya,” a call to genuinely listen to the people’s voices. The party’s emblem, an ear with fingers cupped around it, symbolises an unwavering commitment to attentiveness and citizen engagement.
Taking the helm as party leader, Gachagua is joined by a dynamic team of interim officials, including:
1. Cleophas Malala – Deputy Party Leader (Former Kakamega Senator)
2. Mithika Linturi – National Organising Secretary (Former Meru Senator and Agriculture CS)
3. Cate Waruguru – National Women Leader (Former Laikipia Woman Representative)
With this new political force, Gachagua is set to amplify the voices of Kenyans, laying the groundwork for a spirited journey to the 2027 elections.
