In a bold political move, the WIPER PARTY KALONZO MUSYOKA has officially changed its name to the Wiper Patriotic Front. The announcement was confirmed by the Registrar of Political Parties, Ann Nderitu, marking a significant rebranding moment for the long-standing political outfit.
The name change signals a fresh strategic direction as the party gears up for the 2027 general election. Although the leadership structure remains intact, insiders suggest the rebrand is aimed at reviving the party’s grassroots appeal and consolidating its national image.
“The party has officially been renamed Wiper Patriotic Front,” said Nderitu, who added that all legal and procedural requirements for the name change had been met.
Founded in 2006, the Wiper party has been a key player in Kenya’s opposition politics, especially within the Azimio la Umoja coalition. Kalonzo, a seasoned politician and former vice president, is widely expected to make another stab at the presidency in the upcoming elections.
The rebrand also comes amid renewed calls from party loyalists urging Kalonzo to chart his own course ahead of 2027. Whether this strategic shift will inject new political energy into the party remains to be seen.
